Blackstone Valley Prep (BVP) Mayoral Academy scholars, families and staff ushered in the first day of school of the network’s 7 th year Monday. Scholars at 5 schools were greeted with smiles, handshakes and high fives to kick off the 2015-2016 school year. This is an especially poignant year. Not only did BVP open its doors for the first time for a new elementary school, Elementary School 3 (3 Fairlawn Way, Lincoln), but the Middle School also welcomed scholars into a newly renovated building in Central Falls.

“The first day is always exciting but today was exceptionally exciting as we ushered in several significant milestones.” Executive Director Jeremy Chiappetta said. “It’s all made possible by our phenomenal team of staff, scholars and families.”

In addition to the opening of Elementary School 3 and relocation of the Middle School (909 Lonsdale Avenue), BVP’s Elementary School 2 also welcomed its fourth grade class and the High School welcomed their tenth grade class, doubling in size from its founding year.

1,400 students are enrolled in BVP this year in grades K-10 across five schools and the waitlist for a seat is over 1,800.
